Top 10 favorites

My 10 top favorite movies (in no particular order, unless otherwise stated)

21 Jump Street
If  you want to see a funny movie, this is the one to see. Whenever I watch a funny movie I always have high hopes that I will non-stop laugh, unfortunantly, that's not usually the case, instead, I try to find even the slightest funny thing to laugh at and end up laughing at things that aren't worth he laughter. No matter how many times I watch this movie though, it never fails to be that nonstop laughing movie that everyone needs in their life.

Sinister
If you're a person who is into scary movies, this will be, guaranteed  the scariest movie you will ever see. It's needless to say, a movie that will never be erased from your memory, ever. If you can keep your eyes open, and not shielded, then your going to want to make sure you have lots of lights on after you've watched it.

The Last Exorcism
After a long school day last year Kevin and I were trying to have a nice relaxing afternoon, trying out our new movie channels, when we stumbled upon this chilling horror flick. At first it seems as though this movie may not be frightening, just another one of those painful shaky camera films, but no, this is another terrifying horror movie you can't look away from although it's hard to look at. And this Friday, The Last Exorcism Pt. 2 comes out, I know it doesn't make sense, if the last movie was supposed to be the "last" exorcism, why another one? Watch the first one, and it makes complete sense.

Paranormal Activity
A very known movie to most, also a love it or hate it type of flick. Well, if you haven't noticed since yet, horror seems to be my thing. And well, it took me about 4 after this came out or longer for me to even watch this, but once I did, I loved it, and decided to continue to bask in the "Paranormal Activity" journey, and see all of the sequels.

Paranormal Activity 2
Another good horror flick, similar  yet so different to the original, yet they connect. More of a "before" type of movie, because technically it's based before the first one. Now, if you really pay attention to the first movie, the second one makes complete sense, and although scary on it's own, it only makes sense if you watch the first one

Paranormal Activity 3
Continuing with the "before" theme, this movie was based before both of the first paranormal activity movies, and gives you a full back ground to the movies, and why any of this is happening. Paranormal Activity 2 explains Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 3 explains both Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 2. Not only are these movies quite terrifying, but they have an interesting plot behind them

Paranormal Activity 4
Although this is the fourth one, the movies still continue to be scary and don't tend to get that awful "fourth movie, terrible acting" sense that most fourth movies in a series get. This movie tends to be possibly one of the scariest of the four, I can't rate them which one is scariest to least scariest, but this one seems to be in the running for the scariest

Atrocious
Once again, horror. But this, happens to be about the second scariest movie of all time in my opinion, with Sinister falling in number one. Usually I'm not one for a movie that you have to follow subtitles in order to watch it, and it being horror, seems as though this would be a tough task to complete, but surprisingly, if you actually pay attention, to the subtitles and all, it doesn't become that difficult to actually know what is going on. This movie is hands down, atrocious, just as it states.

Men in Black
Introduced to by Kevin, one of the funniest movies by far. The part that just never gets past me is when Will Smith is doing paper work at the Men In Black head quarters with all of these special forces, marines, army people, etc, and their all sitting in chairs trying to do their paper work, and Will Smith, being himself, drags a table across the floor over to his chair and since everyone is looking at him after the loud noise, he asks one of the guys if he "wants to get down on this", it's too funny, you have to see it.

Men in Black 3
Although all three Men in Black's are funny, interesting and fun to watch. The third one is just a little bit more higher ranked than the second one for me. Being the first Men in Black I had ever seen, it really drew me in and made me want to see the other ones (with a little encouragement from Kevin, them being some of his favorite movies).

The Vacation of a Lifetime

My vacation was none of the "ordinary" vacation, I did not travel to an exotic island or anywhere, really. Instead, I enjoyed some much needed R&R at my humble abode.
The first couple days of vacation were incredible, I felt as if we had all the time in the world to just do whatever we wanted without having to worry about going back school...unfortunately, that was not the case for long. Once the vacation started to reach the weekdays I realized this would not last forever. Wednesday morning when I woke up is when it really hit me, vacation is half way over!
So what exactly was my vacation filled with?
Well, at first, some much needed catch up on sleep, and watching the sixth, and finale season of Gossip Girl.

In case you didn't know this yet, Dan is Gossip Girl. Now, if you don't watch Gossip Girl than that meant nothing at all to you and probably makes about no sense, and if you do watch Gossip Girl and didn't know that, now you do.

Reveal of Gossip Girl

Since Gossip Girl first came out on DVD I have been getting it, and watching it that way, granted, it aired on the CW, I always stuck to waiting it out until the next season would release on DVD. I recently got the fifth season for Christmas from Kevin, and finished watching it over Christmas vacation, but that meant I had to wait until season six was released to once and for all, finish Gossip Girl. So I did a little research and learned Gossip Girl, the sixth season, would be coming out February 19th, so I waited. And to my surprise, that was supposedly not the release date at all, because whilst Valentines Day shopping for Kevin, I stumbled upon the sixth season, and knew, right then, I HAD to get it. Unfortunately, this season was SUPER short, especially compared to the other seasons, and barley took me three days to watch it. Now, by three days I don't even mean three full days, just tid-bits of the three days, needless to say, I was hoping it would take me much longer. All in all, it still holds to be one of my top favorite shows.
Besides watching Gossip Girl, I nursed by boyfriend back to health after unfortunately giving him my cold, a few bowls of chicken noodle soup, cans of ginger ale, and a package of cough drops later, he was feeling a bit more himself by the near end of vacation, which meant we could spend more time doing things together. So, we engaged in watching one of our mutual favorite shows, The King of Queens, due to one of his Valentines Day presents from me, the complete series.

And during the rest of vacation I finally gave in to Kevin asking me to play Black Ops 2, and decided I actually like it, a scary thought, but oh well. It's even gotten to the point where I'm even asking him sometimes if we can play.

As for going out, Kevin and I had one date, that we decided was going to happen, and then we decided it wasn't, and then, once again, we decided it was. So, needless to say, we went to Pizza Hut. Our all time favorite place to eat...besides chinese. So of course, since we were making the trip out to Bangor, I had to go shopping, after all, I hadn't spent nearly any of my Christmas money on clothes and well, come on. So we departed off to Bangor and made our first stop at Marshall's. Afterwards, Kevin was hungry, so we decided to bump up our Pizza Hut visit a few hours. After Pizza Hut, we headed to T.J. Maxx, then the mall, then Target, and finally, we made it to the movies, where we saw Dark Skies. Which was much better than I expected, and we also got in for the kids movie price because of supposed audio problems, which we failed to really notice at all.

And last but not least, we decided to go snowboarding with Dylan and Lisa. Well, let's just say I didn't really think too much into this until I saw the mountain...until then, all that I was thinking about was the outfit I had to change into when we were done snowboarding, some recently purchased items from out date night that I was dying to break in...well, I'm thinking now that maybe I should have considered the snowboarding part a little bit more. Never having gone before, I honestly didn't see it to be too hard, get on the board, go down the mountain, and repeat, simple as that, right? WRONG. And I have the bruises to prove it. After falling off the ski lift when we're supposed to gracefully slide off of it with our snowboards, I managed to realize for the first time that once you're down, it's not easy to get back up, especially when the snowboard never stops moving. Well, let's just say, after nearly sliding into the woods one too many times, I decided to unhook myself from this death trap they disguise as a "snowboard" and walk down the majority of the mountain, and halfway down, I run into Lisa, also a first time snowboarder, I learned later her thoughts when she saw me were somewhere along the lines of "I'm doing what Carly's doing," Well, after making it down the mountain, finding Kevin, and surrendering,  I waited inside the lodge until he decided enough was enough, and our snowboarding career was over before it even began.

To me, my vacation was perfect. Just the right amount of everything--I could have done without passing my dreadful cold to Kevin--but besides that slight inconvenience, we had a joyful, stress-free vacation. Although it may have been 9 days long though, it went by faster than I can even comprehend.

Flash Fiction

It was midnight when she arrived at the airport. She'd been flying for thirteen hours straight, all she wanted

was to go home and see her husband. It had been nearly a month since the last time they had seen each

other. She went to baggage claim and got her luggage. Finding a taxi seemed next to impossible so the next

best thing was walking. When she went out the exit, she saw her husband, roses in hand standing in front of a

car. Living in New York City though, of course they didn't own their own car. He had rented it, just to pick

her up at the airport. Once she jumped into his arms she knew that every second she had been away from

him was worth it, because she got to feel his love again.

Once they got in the car surprisingly the traffic wasn't that atrocious. There were only a few cars and the

lights were working in their favor, a usual thirty minute drive with traffic seemed like it was going to be an

easy ten minutes. The next right and that brought them to the upper east side, where their apartment was.

"You head up, I'll grab the bags," he said as they pulled into the parking garage. As she walked to the

elevator  she smiled at her neighbor as he was walking to his car. The next thing she could remember was

seeing the inside of a dark room. She panicked, trying to move her arms around to feel anything in her

presence, her wrists were tied together. She screamed, but her scream echoed. "Where could I be?" she

thought with panic to herself. The only thing to do is try and find a way out, so that's what she did. It was cold, and there was a draft coming from in front of her, she walked forward, five steps, before a ear piercing scream came out of her mouth, and she woke up on the plane. "Fifteen minutes to landing," she heard over the speakers.

The Tale of the Bed

My weekend started early. I've been cursed with the unfortunate fate of an illness. Starting Thursday until currently I've had a cold, I guess...I'm not quite sure what it is but whenever it feel as though I'm going to get better it just sticks with me. And due to this unfortunate fate I was stuck doing even less than I normally chose to do. If I wanted to merely get myself a drink or something to eat I'd be flushed with a wave of dizziness that sent me straight back to the bed I came from. So then what exactly did I do this weekend you may be wondering by now? Well of course I spent some leisurely time with Kevin, browsed through a few hundred beauty guru instagrams, did some imaginary online shopping, and watched my favorite TV show, Gossip Girl.
I also got to dine on luxury foods, including a sleeve of saltines and bubbly. Ginger ale that is. And incase that wasn't enough of a luxurious meal, I had cough drops for dessert. The fortunate fate of my unfortunate illness was I didn't have shoveling duty.
I remember waking up on  Saturday just like it was yesterday...I mean, it was only a few days ago, but anyways, when I looked out the window to see if it was still snowing I learned that it was, although it wasn't until I looked at the ground that I realized it was most defiantly still snowing. Both of our cars were half way buried in the snow and it was only 8:30 am. When my parents started talking about going outside to start shoveling and plowing I was appalled. "No!" I thought quietly to myself, "I just woke up, I don't want to think about going out in that retched snowstorm." And thanks to the cold or whatever sickness Gods, my disappointment with my sickness turned into relief. Suffer inside with my illness or suffer outside in the cold, being sick didn't sound so bad after all. Although I was on bed rest due to my inability to be active, and felt a bit more than under the weather, I was pleased to not be outside shoveling thanks to Nemo.

Two Views

As I looked at the stranger staring back at me in the mirror I noticed her delicate white lace dress sitting atop her fragile body. "This isn't me," I thought to myself, "It can't be,". I'd been awaiting this day for nearly two years now, but really much longer than that. Everything was perfect, from the invitations, to the floral arrangements. But I couldn't help but feel something wasn't right, I wasn't me. The emptiness that lurked in my eyes was haunting. If this is what I've wanted for so long, why couldn't I see the happiness I should be filled with? Laura, my wedding planner peaked her head in, "Five minutes," her words lingered in the room. Five minutes, and I couldn't find my joy or excitement anywhere.

The peonies were an assortment of light pink and white, with delicate crystal vases. The innocence in her eyes matched the innocence of her surroundings. All delicate, white, light pink, lace, and love. She was dressed in a meticulously custom gown that cost more than some peoples first houses. Her Tiffany engagement ring hugged her finger as if it never wanted to let go. As the clock ticked, each second meant a second closer to her cue. Her cue to walk down the isle, to the life she's always dreamed of and certainly deserves.
